Role Purpose

The role focuses on providing Quality Assurance to ensure projects are effectively and efficiently delivered while achieving intended outcomes and benefits. The successful candidate will assess project activities, documentation, and processes to enforce project standards, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and enhance project execution by minimizing project failures.

The position supports project teams in maintaining standards, producing quality deliverables, and ensuring successful project implementation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Reviews

• Develop and maintain quality standards and assessment tools for project stage gates, ensuring assurance on policies, procedures, and success criteria across the Group.
• Verify project documentation and review existing project implementation, administrative, and internal control systems, recommending improvements where necessary.
• Identify and analyse recurring issues, gaps, and weaknesses across projects and recommend practical solutions.
• Maintain documentation of quality assurance activities and follow up on agreed actions through the Audit Management System.
• Confirm that value processes are established, maintained throughout project implementation and IT systems development life cycles, and periodically reviewed to ensure compliance with internationally accepted best practices.
• Assess projects for compliance with evolving innovations and support responsiveness to emerging technologies.
• Identify training needs within project teams and recommend or facilitate quality assurance training on policies, standards, and best practices.
• Communicate quality standards and expectations to project teams, Internal Audit, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Evaluate Test Strategies and Test Plans to assess quality approaches, timelines, and entry/exit criteria for assigned projects.

2. Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

• Provide timely communication on project status, progress, issues, gaps, and risks to Project Managers and Project Owners.
• Prepare and present quality assurance reports to Project Steering Committees and the Board Audit Committee (where required), highlighting key gaps and practical recommendations.
• Participate in management meetings to enhance understanding of business strategy.
• Prepare detailed, accurate, and actionable reports communicating control gaps, risk impacts, and recommendations.
• Produce timely reports on project quality status and documentation to track project progress.
• Provide regular updates to Senior Management and the Board Audit Committee (where required) on project risk trends, benefits realization, and outstanding issues.
• Contribute to policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and frameworks to strengthen internal control principles.

3. People & Culture

• Build and lead cross-functional teams while fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
• Mentor and train team members on departmental tools, techniques, and industry best practices.
• Resolve team conflicts and stakeholder disputes while maintaining focus on project objectives.

Academic Background & Relevant Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Operations, or a related field.
• Project Assurance qualifications, licenses, or certifications such as ISO 9000, PMP, PMI, or Certified Internal Auditor.
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards is desirable.
• Previous experience in Project Audit or Quality Assurance, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Experience interacting with senior leadership and Board Committees.
• Prior involvement in project implementation processes will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to provide value-adding insights that support business strategy.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
