Job Description
The Job purpose is:
Ensuring equipment and support utilities operate optimally and are available by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving electrical and control & automation problems. Also performing repair and maintenance activities to ensure they are in top condition
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking repair and maintenance activities on electrical and mechanical systems for key equipment and facilities
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, instrumentation, and controls-related problems on equipment and utilities
- Periodically reviewing control and automation systems on equipment and facilities and recommending upgrades where necessary.
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems
- Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) on all major failures on electrical and mechanical systems and utilities
- Reading and interpreting electrical wiring and schematic diagrams to address faults on machines and support utilities
- Ensure reliability of electro-mechanical, control and automation systems by performing autonomous, preventive, condition based and predictive maintenance.
- Advise on the stocking of key electrical and automation spares in liaison with the maintenance planner to ensure timely replenishment to prevent unprecedented downtimes
- Follow electrical safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTOTO) when performing isolation works
- Ability to advise the engineering leadership on continuous improvement projects towards improving energy efficiency of key equipment and utilities
- Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time
Performance Details: OKR Areas
- Downtime related to electro-mechanical, control, and instrumentation breakdowns.
- Accuracy of RCA’s.
- MTBF of automation systems.
- MTTR of automation systems.
- Timely submission of reports.
- Zero accidents due to malfunction of automation systems.
Minimum Academic Qualification and Experience
- Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Good knowledge & understanding in control and automation systems (PLCS, VFD’s etc.) is an added advantage
- 3-5 years of experience in an FMCG or manufacturing set-up.
- High level of technical aptitude – exceptional knowledge of LV circuits, control and instrumentation, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency in electrical design, diagnostic and testing software.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Great organizational and time management abilities.
