Job Description

As a Machine Operator at Mars Snacking, you would be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining our production machinery to the highest standards. In this role, you will ensure machines run safely and efficiently, products consistently meet our rigorous quality and safety benchmarks, and shift production targets are achieved. You will act as an integral part of our plant operations team, driving autonomous maintenance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence on the factory floor.

What are we looking for?

  • A technical or vocational qualification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or fast-moving production environment (experience with automated or industrial packaging/processing equipment is highly advantageous).
  • Sound mechanical aptitude, basic troubleshooting skills, and a strong understanding of workplace safety and autonomous maintenance (cleaning, inspection, and lubrication).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate production logs.
  • A collaborative team player with good communication skills and the flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends as required.

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Safely set up, operate, and adjust production machinery and equipment in accordance with Mars standard operating procedures.
  • Continuously monitor machine performance, operating parameters, and process outputs to ensure optimal line efficiency.
  • Conduct routine quality checks and inspections on finished products to ensure strict adherence to quality and food safety standards.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance tasks, including routine cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and reporting any equipment abnormalities or maintenance needs.
  • Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, food safety regulations, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Collaborate with Production Team Leaders and line associates to resolve technical issues and achieve daily production targets.
