Job Description

Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for assisting the Head of HR in providing support to Line Managers in the management of employees to ensure that the Bank is able to meet its Strategic Business Objectives through high performing teams. The position holder is also responsible for providing day to day guidance and support to employees in all areas of Human Resource Management that impact employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To act as a key point of contact for employees and managers
  • To support the Head of Human Resources in implementing value adding strategic HR Functional plans that deliver business results
  • To support the Head of HR in liaison with Line Managers, to deliver best practice, customer and solution focused HR function on:
  • Recruitment, Retention and Contract Management
  • Employee Inductions and Deployment
  • Performance Management & Rewards Management
  • Training Needs Analysis and Capability Building
  • To interpret and provide advice on HR policies and to support managers in the practical implementation of HR policies, employment legislation and best practice Change Management & To administer staff benefit schemes including medical, pension and life insurance
  • To manage employee welfare issues
  • To conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee separation from the company, prepare reports and recommend solutions
  • To enhance the right culture and create ownership of the organization’s values, vision and mission and driving change in line with business goals To ensure the maintenance of up to date personnel records and statistics, both physically and online
  • To generate strategic HR metrics periodically for the Head of HR, while analyzing HR trends to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • To conduct Talent Management Routines and Succession Planning, support Line Managers in conducting job rotations and implementation of development plans.
  • Support the Learning and development manager in the management of succession planning, competency and career development frameworks, and individual development plans
  • To provide day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • To work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • To prepare statutory payments for payroll promptly
  • To conduct monthly meetings with respective business units
  • To ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as with the Bank’s internal policies and procedures while executing assigned duties and responsibilities
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors; degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources or related field
  • CHRP
  • Higher Diploma in HR
  • 2-3 years’ experience in similar position or in HR
  • Knowledge of HRIS is an added advantage
