Laundry Attendant at Outspan Hospital

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and experienced Laundry Attendant

to join our hospital laundry team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distributing hospital linen while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, infection prevention, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort and classify soiled linen according to hospital procedures.
•  Operate washing machines, dryers, ironing machines and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper handling of contaminated and infectious linen according to IPC guidelines.
• Wash, dry, fold, and distribute linen within the required timelines.
• Monitor laundry equipment and report any breakdowns or maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of linen received and delivered.
• Observe all hospital safety policies and infection prevention protocols.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure an adequate supply of clean linen.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Certificate in Laundry Operations, Housekeeping, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital laundry setting.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC) practices.
• Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment.
• Good understanding of linen management procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Basic record-keeping skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in handling highly soiled and infectious linen.
• Knowledge of quality improvement and cost-control practices.
