Veterinary Surgeon with more than five years of experience spanning veterinary diagnostics, laboratory operations, disease surveillance, field epidemiology and livestock health programme implementation. Currently serving with the Directorate of Veterinary Services at the National
Veterinary Laboratory (NVL), Ukunda, supporting laboratory diagnostics, microscopy, biological sample management, surveillance reporting, laboratory quality systems and farmer advisory services. • Process approximately 700 veterinary diagnostic samples annually while maintaining sample
integrity and laboratory quality standards.
• Perform routine microscopy-based diagnosis supporting confirmation of livestock diseases.
• Utilize KABS and LIMS for surveillance reporting, laboratory data management and case tracking.
• Prepare quarterly and annual surveillance reports, laboratory reports and technical summaries.
• Provide technical supervision to laboratory technicians and promote adherence to laboratory
SOPs.
• Conduct farmer sensitization on disease prevention, vaccination, parasite control, biosecurity
and animal welfare.
• Collaborate with County Veterinary Services, private practitioners and livestock producers during
disease investigations and surveillance activities
• Delivered preventive and curative veterinary services for food animals and equines.
• Conducted disease investigations, herd health planning and reproductive management.
• Prepared treatment protocols, technical reports and farm management recommendations.
• Trained farmers on vaccination, parasite control, biosecurity and sustainable livestock
