The U.S. Embassy in Kenya is the official diplomatic mission of the United States of America to the Republic of Kenya. Established in 1964, the Embassy works to strengthen the longstanding partnership between the United States and Kenya through diplomacy, trade, security cooperation, public health, education, environmental conservation, and economic development. Based in Gigiri, Nairobi, the mission hosts several U.S. government agencies, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), Peace Corps, and the Regional Security Office, among others. The Embassy supports initiatives in democracy and governance, regional peace and security, entrepreneurship, education, public diplomacy, health, climate resilience, and humanitarian assistance while also providing consular services, including visa processing and assistance to U.S. citizens.
