Job Description
Purpose
Carry out all assigned inspection, repair, modification, rectification, replacement, overhaul and systems functional test tasks during aircraft maintenance for all KQ fleet/third party operators and perform certification in line with KCAA regulations/ company standard procedures at an optimized cost for the business whilst upholding high schedule integrity.
Responsibilities
- Carry out repair, modification, rectification, replacement, overhaul, functional test tasks on aircraft systems within planned TAT and certify in line with KCAA regulations/ company standard.
- Carry out aircraft defect trouble shooting in accordance with maintenance manuals.
- Conduct aircraft inspections and predictive maintenance to determine airworthiness.
- Accurately complete aircraft maintenance documentation.
- Operate maintenance equipment trained on and authorized for use.
- Adhere to the company safety, health & environment policy to maintain company safety records, report incidents/accident occurrences as per company procedures to deliver quality and comply with 5S requirements.
- Carry out security checks as per engineering security document annex8 to maintain our security standards.
Skills
- Basic Knowledge of Aviation Legislation/Regulations.
- Knowledge of Industrial Safety Standards.
- Has used the appropriate equipment, technology and/or IT systems to complete day to day work.
- Has knowledge of material specifications – MSDS.
- Communicate with internal customers to give and receive information on assigned duties
- Daily planning of execution of allocated tasks.
Tasks are allocated by supervisor - Has demonstrated an understanding of Health and Safety/ risk assessments and their practical application.
- Be able to use appropriate maintenance data.
- Demonstrated basic capability in Standard practices relevant to the work area.
- Trouble shooting at a task level in accordance with standard operating procedures, under supervision. Escalate as required.
- Make decision on the requirements for allocated tasks in line with standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Completed a recognized apprentice or
- Holds relevant KNEC Engineering Diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution
- KCSE aggregate C+ with C+ in math, English and physics
- Computer Literacy
- 3 years aircraft maintenance experience or 2 years apprentice program
