Job Description

We are looking for a Mobility Inventory Officer to own the accurate tracking, receipt, movement, and system recording of all mobility inventory as we continue to scale our Mobility division across Kenya.

About Us

M-KOPA’s Mobility division is transforming urban transport by making electric motorcycles accessible and affordable for everyday Kenyans. Our operations team keeps the stock engine running; from receiving units off OEM delivery trucks to managing refurbishment flows and retail replenishment across our network. You’ll work closely with the Inventory Team Lead, Finance, Retail, Product, Customer Care, and Customer Performance teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where accuracy at the serial number level genuinely matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Receiving and verifying all incoming stock from OEMs; physically counting units and reconciling against Purchase Orders, delivery notes, and accompanying documentation before acceptance, and receipting all inbound stock in D365 with serial numbers, chassis numbers, and item codes captured accurately and without delay
  • Processing outbound stock issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments through D365 and Zoho CRM, and preparing all outbound documentation including transfer notes, delivery documentation, and dispatch confirmations
  • Ensuring all stock movements; inbound, outbound, interbranch transfers, returns, and adjustments are updated in real time across D365 and Zoho, targeting a minimum stock accuracy of ≥99%
  • Conducting regular cycle counts and supporting monthly full physical stock takes, submitting variance reports within agreed SLAs, and performing root-cause analysis on recurring stock discrepancies
  • Managing all stock returns including batteries receiving, assessing, and recording returned units by condition, and overseeing the full refurbishment lifecycle from return receipt through quality assessment to re-entry into available stock
  • Managing free trial and loaner bike inventory, tracking allocation, return dates, condition, and system status for all units in this category
  • Ensuring timely and accurate receipting of all Purchase Orders in D365 and maintaining complete inventory transaction documentation including goods received notes, delivery notes, transfer records, variance reports, and reconciliation schedules
  • Reporting daily on stock movements, variances, and open items, generating and analysing inventory reports from the ERP, and recommending process improvements to enhance accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Supporting Finance with monthly stock reconciliations, maintaining audit-ready records, and participating in internal and external audits

This is an on-site role based in Nairobi and Mombasa. You will be reporting to the Inventory Manager.

Expertise

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in inventory management, stock control, or a related operations role
  • Practical, hands-on experience using an ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting
  • Solid understanding of inventory control principles including FIFO, serial and batch tracking, cycle counting methodology, and stock valuation basics
  • Exceptional attention to detail; able to catch and resolve discrepancies at the serial number and unit level before they compound
  • Nice to have: experience in the automotive, electric vehicle, or mobility sector; familiarity with Zoho CRM
