Water/Effluent Technician at Kenchic Limited

Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Operate equipment used to purify and clarify water and process or dispose of effluent.
• Add appropriate treatment chemicals such as alum, soda ash and chlorine.
• Inspect treatment equipment regularly and monitor operating conditions, meters, gauges and control panels. Collect and test water and effluent samples, including samples for laboratory analysis.
• Record operational data, meter and gauge readings and maintain accurate treatment-process records. Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds and work areas.
• Monitor operational issues and promptly report malfunctions. Support compliance with applicable environmental and safety requirements. Ensure efficient use of pumps and machines.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Diploma in Water Engineering.
• At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of water and effluent treatment.
• Knowledge of effluent treatment standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

ADDED ADVANTAGE:

• Ability to drive and possession of a valid driving licence will be an added advantage.

PLEASE NOTE:

• The successful candidate may be required to work in shifts and/or over weekends depending on operational requirements
