Job Purpose
To ensure accurate, complete, and secure management of patient health records in line with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Registration, Billing and Payments
- Ensure accurate patient registration, billing, and appointment scheduling in the HMIS, including verification of patient details, processing payments, and applying correct ICD-11 coding.
Records Management & Data Integrity
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records (manual and electronic), prepare required reports, and manage statutory documentation suchas birth and death notifications in compliance with policies and legal requirements.
Patient Support &Compliance
- Provide professional front-office support to patients, uphold confidentiality of medical information, support staff training on systems and procedures, and assist in audits, data verification, and other compliance-related activities.
Qualifications& Experience
- Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience in a busy healthcare setting.
