Position Summary
Jubilee Life Insurance Limited is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Commercial Officer – Retail to join its executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the successful candidate will lead the growth, profitability, and market expansion of the retail business while driving innovation across distribution channels, partnerships, and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute business growth and distribution strategies.
- Drive market expansion through agency, bancassurance, and alternative channels.
- Lead financial and commercial strategy, budgeting, and long-term planning.
- Enhance branch network growth and market reach.
- Build strategic partnerships and identify new market opportunities.
- Drive product innovation and customer-centric business strategies.
- Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to support executive decision-making.
Operations Management
- Oversee performance and execution across all retail distribution channels.
- Drive client acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
- Manage strategic partnerships and bancassurance initiatives.
- Improve sales capability through training and performance management.
- Ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and risk management.
- Monitor customer experience and implement service improvement initiatives.
- Deliver commercial and financial performance targets.
Corporate Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and internal policies.
- Implement risk management frameworks and internal controls.
- Monitor emerging business risks and establish mitigation measures.
Leadership & People Management
- Provide strategic leadership to the Retail Distribution function.
- Build and develop high-performing teams.
- Drive talent management, succession planning, and capability development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Strategy, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- CPA-K, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Diploma in Insurance, LOMA, CII, or TDPK qualification.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Life Insurance Sales Leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of life insurance products, underwriting, actuarial principles, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record of revenue growth, profitability improvement, and business development.
- Experience operating in complex and regulated business environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in technology adoption, change management, and operational excellence.
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong people leadership and team development experience.
