Job Summary
Supporting the Bank by handling legal functions that overall ensure compliance and nsupport banking operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Issuance of instructions to the panel of legal service providers in matters relating to perfection of securities.
- Maintaining a live report for all conveyance matters that is shared to the relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Handling legal queries from the branch network as and when required.
- Ensuring that the Bank’s lease Agreements are registered. This involves review of drafts, payment of legal fees and safe storage of the registered documents in
- consultation with Head of Admin and Facilities
- Negotiating on legal fees as and when required.
- Issuance of legal opinions and legal advice to branches and other departments.
- Conducting training of staff on requested legal matters and as per the Rafiki training calendar
- Handling the verification of documentation such as affidavits and those pertaining to succession.
- Review of contractual documents and drafts.
- Assisting in preparation for board meetings.
- Files, stamp and seal safe keeping and ensuring legal reports and records are well updated at all times.
- Any other official duty assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law
- Post Graduate Law Diploma and Admission to the Bar as an Advocate
- 5 years’ experience post admission
