Apprentice Programme in Supply Chain Management at the House of Procurement (HOP)

The Kenya Institute of Supplies Management is a statutory agency and the national professional membership body for supply chain management professionals. It is established under section 3 of the Supplies Practitioners Management Act, 2007 (SPMA) with the mandate to register, license, train, discipline and regulate supply chain management practitioners in Kenya.

The Institute, in Collaboration with the House of Procurement (HOP), is pleased to invite young graduates to apply for the apprenticeship programme for the First Cohort, which endeavours to admit ten (10) graduates.

Terms of Service:
Three (3) years fixed term renewable contract upon successful completion of the mandatory one (1) year training programme.

Purpose of the Apprenticeship Programme

The Programme’s main objectives are to enhance:

  1. Workplace Readiness & Employability:
    Equipping trainees with soft skills, ethics, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  2. Professional Practice in Supply Chain Management:
    Training in procurement, sourcing, contract management, and logistics.
  3. Mentorship & Coaching:
    Providing structured mentorship from experienced professionals within HOP and KISM.

Eligibility Criteria for Appointment

The Institute hereby invites interested and qualified applicants from young graduates, who meet the following criteria for appointment as Apprentices in the House of Procurement Apprenticeship Programme:

  1. Be a Kenyan youth who has graduated within the last 0-5 years as of 10th October 2025 (the advert closure date).
  2. Must be a holder of Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
    i. Procurement and Supply Chain Management;
    ii. Purchasing and Supplies Management;
    iii. Supply Chain Management;
    iv. Procurement and Contract Management;
    v. Procurement and Logistics Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  3. The Certified Procurement and Supplies Professional Course (Part I, Part II or CPSP Finalist) is an added advantage.

Required Documents

Successful candidates will be expected to present the following in line with Chapter Six of the Constitution:

  1. Valid certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
  2. Valid clearance certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
  3. Valid tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  4. Current clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
  5. Current report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
