The Credit administrator is responsible for assessing loan applications, evaluating the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses, and recommending lending decisions that align with the organization’s risk management policies. The role ensures that all credit facilities are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
ROLE OVERVIEW
- Manage credit administration processes, including loan documentation, file perfection, and disbursement support.
- Analyze the loan book and segment the portfolio to assess performance and risk exposure.
- Identify emerging credit risks and provide recommendations to mitigate potential losses.
- Prepare portfolio analysis reports and present key risk insights to management.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of credit controls across the lending portfolio.
- Work closely with sales, operations, and collections teams to maintain portfolio quality.
- Maintain accurate records of credit assessments and lending decisions.
Credit Risk Analyst Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- CPA qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Microfinance Institution.
- Experience in microfinance and micro-loan financing is highly desirable
- Experience in credit analysis, loan processing, and financial services.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of credit analysis, credit administration, loan documentation, file perfection, disbursement support, and credit controls.
- Excellent analytical and financial assessment skills.
- Ability to analyze loan portfolios, identify trends, and evaluate portfolio performance.
- Strong report-writing skills with experience preparing credit, portfolio, and risk reports for management review.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict processing deadlines.
