Bandari Maritime Academy
Bandari Maritime Academy was established through Legal Notice No. 233 of 28th November 2018, with the mandate to develop academic and vocational skills and provide competent Maritime Human Resource for a Sustainable Blue Economy.
Applications are invited from qualified persons for the following positions on a part-time basis. Successful candidates will be engaged as part-time Resource Persons delivering specialized instruction aligned with the Academy’s academic calendar and training schedules.
1. Resource Person – Maritime Transport Operations
Key Responsibilities
- CBET Training Delivery
- CBET Assessment & Participate in Development Tools
- Compile Portfolio Evidence of CBET Trainee
- Supervise Trade Project & Business Plan
- Provide Results of the Assessment as Provided in the Assessment Schedule
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Port Management, Shipping and Logistics or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field from a recognized university
- Certificate in Pedagogical Skills Training
- Certificate in Training of Trainers (ToT)
- Demonstrated merit and competence as evidenced by work performance and measurable results
- Evidence of TVETA registration (TVETA Trainer License)
2. Resource Person – BMA Driving School
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct professional driver training sessions for Forklift (Class G10), Terminal Tractors (Class CE) Operators Course, Cargo Gantry Crane Operators Course
- Prepare and assess learner progress
- Promote road safety awareness and compliance with NTSA regulations
- Maintain training logs and equipment
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in any of the following fields: Business Management, Shipping, Clearing and Forwarding, Maritime Transport and Logistics or related field
- Valid Driving Instructor License with Forklift Class G10 and Terminal Tractor Class CE from NTSA
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Equipment Training
- Certificate in Training of Trainers (ToT)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
3. Resource Person – Marine Engineering
Key Responsibilities
- CBET Training Delivery
- CBET Assessment & Participate in Development Tools
- Compile Portfolio Evidence of CBET Trainee
- Supervise Trade Project & Business Plan
- Provide Results of the Assessment as Provided in the Assessment Schedule
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering
- Seagoing experience as Marine Engineer (at least Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch), 4 years (CoC III) and above
- STCW-compliant certification
- Teaching experience is an added advantage
- Evidence of TVETA registration (TVETA Trainer License)
4. Resource Persons – Nautical Science
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction in Navigation, Cargo Handling, Control of Operations of Ship and Care of Persons Onboard, Stowage and Radio Communication
- Oversee practical training using simulators and onboard training
- Participate in curriculum development and mentorship of cadets
- Train on Basic Safety Training
- CBET Training Delivery
- CBET Assessment & Participate in Development Tools
- Compile Portfolio Evidence of CBET Trainee
- Supervise Trade Project & Business Plan
- Provide Results of the Assessment as Provided in the Assessment Schedule
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nautical Science or related field
- CoC III (A-II/1 or A-II/2)
- STCW-compliant certification with sea service as Deck Officer
- Proficiency in using navigation simulators is an additional advantage
- Teaching qualification or experience preferred
- Evidence of TVETA registration (TVETA Trainer License)
5. Resource Persons – Other Units
Key Responsibilities
- CBET Training Delivery
- CBET Assessment & Participate in Development Tools
- Compile Portfolio Evidence of CBET Trainee
- Supervise Trade Project & Business Plan
- Provide Results of the Assessment as Provided in the Assessment Schedule
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in a relevant field from a recognized university
- Certificate in Pedagogical Skills Training
- Certificate in Training of Trainers (ToT)
- Demonstrated merit and competence as evidenced by work performance and measurable results
- Evidence of TVETA registration (TVETA Trainer License)
